Job Summary
Under limited supervision and functional guidance, manage and develop a portfolio of business banking relationships and ensure retention of total client assets and net growth in relationships, while complying with established Associated Bank risk management and credit policy, business strategy and regulatory guidelines. Work closely with internal partners to facilitate the development of new business relationships as well as develop prospects through COIs and other proactive measures. Play a vital role in the growth and development of the business banking portfolio and market share. Directly manage 1-2 direct reports including providing coaching and performance assessment.

Job Accountabilities
- Directly or through leading others, initiate new business opportunities for the bank through the development of new business contacts and maintenance of existing client relationships to ensure sufficient loan, deposit and fee income. Effectively leverage assigned staff for maximum personal impact on new business development. Ensure resources are always deployed on a 'highest and best use' basis. Act as deal team leader on direct report's new business opportunities.
- Develop Business Banking relationships by profiling and analyzing financial data to determine the merits of specific loan requests and recommend structure for any opportunities they or their direct reports originate.
- Responsible for working collaboratively with internal partners to cross sell all bank product and services, especially non-borrowing services, Commercial Deposits & Treasury Management (CDTM), Capital Markets Private Banking, Wealth Management and Institutional Services, Associated Financial Group, Employee Benefit Services, Retail Bank-at-work, etc., to our existing client base and to prospective customers.
- Ensure the portfolio administration and risk management of each client relationship is in compliance with established Associated Banc-Corp credit policy, procedure and business strategy as well as commercial and regulatory guidelines.
- Provide financial advice and counsel to clients and prospective clients regarding trends and conditions of the business environment and general banking trends though bank approved sources.
- Make presentations on specific loans and participate in the bank's loan approval process, recommending approval and appropriate structure of credits, along with the Portfolio Manager.
- Manage direct reports by establishing annual performance goals; provide coaching and performance assessment; and determining and recommending individual merit, incentive, and/or promotional increases. Conduct periodic huddles with direct reports to discuss current state-of-the-state and brainstorm on ideas to increase revenue and efficiency, and ensure staff is trained on any procedure changes.
- Work with Business Banking Market Leader to establish strategy and annual business plan with responsibility for execution of initiatives, budgeting, business reviews, and collaborating with key partners and stakeholders.
- Participate in community and business functions/groups to ensure a positive image for the bank. Establish referral contacts within the community. Serve on community, corporate or not-for-profit boards, as applicable.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Business, Finance or Accounting or related discipline or equivalent related experience Required
- 7+ years Commercial banking or business to business sales experience. Strong business development skills, strong credit skills, strong knowledge of non-borrowing products, past track records of sales and client management success. Required
- Supervisory, leadership, and/or mentorship experience. Preferred
- Must have access to reliable transportation and the ability to lawfully drive self, if applicable. by start date, Required
