Fund Controller
A real estate organization in Colorado is actively seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join their staff as their new Fund Controller. In this role, the Fund Controller will be responsible for the compilation, analysis, and validation of all investment and investor-related transactions.
Responsibilities
The Fund Controller will be responsible for:
- Day-to-day management of the accounting and internal reporting on the funds and underlying properties in accordance with US GAAP and NCREIF PREA Reporting Standards
- Preparation of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual fund-level financial statements and other client reporting
- Maintaining the fund books-and-records and partner allocations
- Preparation of capital activity (capital call and distribution notices)
- Analyzing and preparing expense allocations and budgets between multiple fund entities
- Participating in new product launches, new investment acquisitions, and property dispositions
- Quarterly data submission to various industry organizations and consultants
- Working with valuations team to analyze reasonableness of fair market value calculations on the investments within the Fund
- Identifying and analyzing daily cash activity for various fund entities
- Degree from a four-year college or university program with an emphasis in accounting, finance or related field
- 8+ years of real estate fund accounting experience with emphasis on open-ended vehicles
- Strong knowledge in accounting and reporting (US GAAP, NCREIF PREA Reporting Standards)
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented environment
- Good leadership skills
- Ability to identify and describe key risk exposures and portfolio characteristics
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
