Job Overview:
The primary purpose of Lead Engineer – VMware Admin role is to provide technical leadership and guidance in the installation, configuration and implementation of products and technologies focused on virtualization. This role will provide architecture, administration, and monitoring or virtual server environment. You will conduct performance tuning, problem resolution, storage administration, capacity planning, policy administration, change management, disaster recovery, backups and system analysis. You will be required to assess and identify appropriate solutions to meet business requirements that can be integrated into an enterprise environment.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for leading the delivery of technical projects.
- Perform troubleshooting and process improvement.
- Provide advanced technical support to infrastructure support team.
- implement technical security policies and procedures to ensure corporate compliance.
- Develop automation for standard tasks and process improvement.
- Ensure high availability and acceptable levels of performance for mission critical systems.
- Develop and maintain documentation for support activities and new processes for compliance and lower-level support.
- Perform VMware patching to ensure security compliance.
- Conduct performance tuning and capacity management on virtual desktop and server environments.
Qualifications and Competencies
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field (or equivalent work experience in a related field).
- 3 – 5 years’ experience with VMware esx, vSphere, Horizon and vRealize Operations
- 1 – 3 years’ experience of participating in PCI and SOX audits.
- Experience with support of virtual desktop environments.
- Experience with enterprise storage and networking.

- Experience with Cisco Hyper Converged Infrastructure
- Experience with Perl, Python, and PowerShell.
- Experience with HP infrastructure including OneView. (Synergy, DL360, DL380, C7000, 3PAR, and Primera)
- Experience with vsan technology
