Senior Oracle Database Developer
Senior Database Developer is responsible for the design, development, and support of database solutions in support of global data stores for use by Finance, Enterprise Risk and Compliance across all lines of business. Developer will be responsible for all deliverables associated with the solutions including data model, PL/SQL procedures and packages, scripts, and documentation.
Responsibilities:
Interact with stakeholders to understand requirements, explain issues and prioritize work.
Participate actively in scrum ceremonies including backlog grooming, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
Design, code, test, debug, and document database solutions to meet user needs.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues encountered through the SDLC and in production.
Design data models for small and large scale applications.
Provide data analysis and validation.
Create efficient data transformation routines.
PL/SQL and SQL Tuning and Optimization of newly developed and existing applications.
Maintain high-quality documentation
Communicate regularly with developers and modelers working in parallel tracks to maintain consistency of models and other deliverables.
Respond promptly to trouble tickets opened by testers and production users who report defects. Pinpoint the root cause and assign the tickets to the appropriate development teams.
Develop and maintain standards and best practices for Oracle database solutions.
Qualifications:
7 or more years of experience in Information Technology
5 or more years of experience in Oracle database design and PL/SQL development.
5 or more years of complete system development life cycle experience with complex data integration solutions using relational and/or cloud data platforms.
3 or more years of experience with Datawarehouse and large volumes of data
2 or more years of experience with creation and implementation of data models using tools such as Erwin. Experience with UML modeling and Magicdraw a strong plus.
Experience with reporting tools like Tableau or Power BI is a plus
Experience in data architecture is a plus
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to work independently under strict deadlines.
Experience in Financial Services (preferably banking) is a strong plus
Education:
Bachelors degree/University degree or equivalent experience
Masters degree preferred
