Schafer Hardwood Flooring Company is a leading manufacturer of World-Class Wide Plank Flooring in North America! Our dedicated team work together to create a quality product that they are proud of and our customers appreciate. Currently operating on a standard 5-day/week, 8 hour/shift schedule Monday-Friday (7a-330p) with the potential for voluntary overtime periodically; however, flexibility for part-time shifts available as well.

The Molder Operator is responsible for the setup and operation of a 6-head molder that mills hardwood moldings/flooring while adhering to safety and milling quality standards and ensuring milling tolerances. Career growth opportunities are available as well.

Part Time and Full Time positions available starting at $18-20/hour with opportunity for career growth.

Essential Functions:

  1. Operating machinery and hand tools
  2. Reading drawings and confirming tolerances using digital calipers
  3. Machine setup and operation
  4. Inspect products to standards
  5. Transport product within facility
  6. Produces product according to specifications, as assigned
  7. Follows all standard operating procedures, safety guidelines and policies
  8. Comply with required attendance policy and be physically at assigned location to fulfill job functions.
  9. Works harmoniously with others with exemplary interpersonal skills.
  10. Works on strict deadlines which require prompt attention to detail and reliable attendance.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.

  1. Ability to work assigned shift and adhere to attendance guidelines
  2. Must have reliable means of transporting to work
  3. Successful completion of a pre-employment background check
  4. Adhere to Drug & Alcohol-Free Workplace guidelines
  5. Ability to read and follow instructions and complete tasks
  6. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Education/Certification/Licensing/Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Requirements:

  1. Previous demonstrated experience of 2+ years in similar molding operator capacity.
  2. Previous machine operator experience required
  3. Ability to read, write and use micrometers, calipers and other related measurement equipment required
  4. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  5. Attentive to detail and well organized
  6. Mechanically inclined

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  1. Involves working in a production/manufacturing plant environment regularly exposed to extreme temperature, extreme noise, fumes, dust, etc.
  2. Ability to move throughout the facilities regularly.
  3. Ability to lift, carry and transport up to 40 pounds.
  4. No other unusual physical demands or environmental factors.
  5. Ability to speak, hear and see.
  6. Ability to sit, stand, push, pull, climb or stoop
  7. Ability to keep up with production pace for entire shift
