Driver Yard Jockey

Job Summary: Driver Jockey / Local Utah County - The Transfer Station Jockey position is responsible for switching and transferring trailers around a yard (transfer station) and in and out of a loading pit. The ideal candidate will have a CDL but not required, must have the ability to maintain the yard independently and efficiently in close proximity to occasional truck traffic.

Responsibilities: Applicants could be required to do any of the following:

• Safely Drive and operate truck and trailers with-in the transfer station
• Maneuver and back trailers properly
• Connect and disconnect trailers from a road tractor or switcher tractor
• Roll and unroll trailer tarps
• Will occasionally perform minor maintenance while working the yard
• Will perform daily inspection of vehicles driven and report any vehicle defects
• Help keep truck and local yard area clean
• Willingness to help where needed

Qualifications:

• clean driving record and pass background
• Pass drug test
• Work independently in absence of supervision
• Knowledge of safe work practices
• Ability to work weekend shifts consistently
• Understand and follow work orders and other oral or written instructions
