Location: Watertown, MA (Flexible hybrid schedule - 1 day or less a week in the office). Free parking and can get there by public transportation.


Company Information: VC Backed Technology Manufacturing company. They manufacture wireless charging for electric vehicles. They have expanded internationally (Hong Kong & Japan and acquired the assets of a competitor in Switzerland). They currently have 250 patents and their client list is growing to include major car makes (i.e Toyota). They have plenty of runway and are looking for a sharp, well rounded Accountant who is looking to make an impact at a growing company that is well funded and potential IPO in the future. This position will be a blend of FP&A and Accounting.

Full Job Description

We are searching for a Senior Finance Associate, reporting to the Assistant Controller, who will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Accounting department and maintenance of the accounting records, general accounting including international operations, financial analysis, and reporting.


Position:

75% Accounting

25% FP&A


Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for monthly accounting cycle, including the reconciliation and analysis of all accounts
  • Lead the month-end close process: close sub ledgers, ensure proper cut offs, prepare and post journal entries, perform account and bank reconciliations
  • Responsible for daily operational procedures, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, expense reporting, payroll, cash management, sales & use tax, ad hoc reporting
  • Work with international service provider to support foreign operations, including payroll, accounts payable, management reporting and compliance requirements
  • Manage the fixed asset additions, disposals, and depreciations/amortization and recordkeeping
  • Participate in the FP&A process including annual budgeting, periodic re-forecasting, budget to actual analysis and implementation of FP&A tool
  • Assist in the implementation of an inventory management system and related processes
  • Prepare audit schedules and assist with the external audit
  • Assist with technical accounting research and non-routine reporting transactions
  • Document business and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Work collaboratively with cross functional team members


Requirements:

  • BS degree in Accounting and 3 - 5+ years’ experience, public accounting preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GreatPlains, Concur, ADP preferred
  • Detail and systems oriented with the ability to execute at both a transactional and strategic level
  • Strong organizational and ownership skills with a commitment to completeness and accuracy required
  • Self-motivated work ethic, history of taking initiative and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous experience with inventory and international accounting, a plus
  • Small company experience strongly preferred; Comfortable in a high growth, entrepreneurial environment; Ability to be flexible and agile as business needs and goals shift
