Communications Specialist
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a degree in Communications, English, Marketing, Journalism or a related field or equivalent experience; 2 years of full-time job experience- no internships
- Experience using O365 applications (SharePoint, Teams, Forms, etc.)
- Experience producing videos from start to finish, creating graphics, managing social media, and liaising with community partners
- 2+ years of comprehensive job-related experience, preferably in communications or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience using Adobe Creative Cloud software\
- Strong technological proficiency

- Strong writing skills and the ability to listen, learn, and develop clear, concise, and accurate messages for a variety of diverse audiences.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong relationships
- A ttention to detail
- Strong project management skills and organization with the ability to prioritize projects and requests and meet established deadlines
- Strong understanding of branding and experience adhering to brand guidelines

Responsibilities
- Acts as the subject matter expert on communications and branding for the Pontiac facility
- Manages all facility communications vehicles including digital signage, employee newsletter, facility Facebook page, Yammer, start of shift communication, all-campus email communication, and more
- Develops and delivers facility’s operations communications to keep employees informed
- Works directly with Human Resources Manager and team on key employee and business communications
- Provides support to facility leaders and employees to help meet facility goals
- Provides communications consultation to leaders (presentation materials, talking points, video scripts, etc.)
- Writes stories to recognize and engage employees at the Pontiac facility
- Creates internal and external media for advertising including graphics, photography, and video
- Identifies strategic opportunities for communications improvements
- Copy edits and proofreads messaging for leaders and other business partners
- Manages Pontiac homepage
- Works with division communications team to execute on communication strategy
- Support operations All Employee Meetings on each shift
