Senior Accountant, Payroll*

Miami, FL (Hybrid)

Responsibilities

Perform a wide variety of advanced payroll accounting activities including, but not limited to, supporting Executive Compensation programs, deferred compensation calculations, assist with request for data and preparing payroll related accruals that require the application of professional accounting standards and follow established company policies and procedures. Resolve more complex problems of broad scope and impact in maintaining accounts and financial reporting.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform regular and recurring accounting functions that require professional competence.
  • Research and collect data to be used in transactions.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and research of transactions and reports.
  • Prepare and reconcile assigned monthly balance sheet accounts for the purpose of maintaining accurate account balances and compliance with established company policies and procedures.
  • Perform monthly and quarterly analysis, review and preparation of variance explanations of actual results to plan, forecast and prior period actual results related to Crew Payroll and S&B accounts.
  • Perform and review deferred compensation calculations.
  • Understand and process Executive Compensation programs with a high level of quality control.
  • Assist auditors by providing documentation and/or information on internal process that is required for audit.?
  • Document accounting procedures, processes, internal controls and transactions that will later be used for financial management procedures and auditing.
  • Provide a high level of service to internal and external customers.? Respond to business unit inquiries or data requests from all levels of management. Research and resolve more complex requests. Assists management in the resolution of issues that require specialized expertise, urgency or have a significant financial or legal impact.
  • Compile statistical and payroll data from a variety of sources (e.g., payroll, salary adjustments, benefits, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring compliance with established guidelines and internal controls.
  • Research discrepancies of payroll information and/or documentation (e.g. bonus, retro over-time, commissions) for the purpose of ensuring accuracy and adherence to procedures prior to processing.
  • Prepare a variety of payroll related documents for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information.
  • Perform other job related functions as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Business or any equivalent combination of education and or relevant work experience is required.
  • Preferred MBA or CPA or Big 6.

EXPERIENCE:?4 years of accounting and/or payroll experience is required.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Peoplesoft General experience, preferred. Hyperion (SmartView, Essbase) experience, preferred.
  • Peoplesoft HR experience, preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Strong attention to details.
  • Strong analytical, research skills to analyze discrepancies and data.
  • Strong personal computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently; self-start and meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure and in a fast paced environment while meeting strict deadlines and maintaining high quality of work.?
  • Must be extremely accurate and detail oriented in order to maintain high standards of accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
