Job Description
OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE:
Own, develop and oversee execution of the strategy and product roadmap for Takedas trial analytics platform to support trial delivery objectives (e.g., speed, cost, quality) to achieve top-quartile industry performance
Liaise with various internal and external groups (Study Execution Teams, Clinical Operations, Innovation & Data, Global Patient Safety Evaluation, Therapeutic Area Units, regions, CROs, and external consultants, contractors and vendors) to drive the technical build of Takedas Trial Insights Platform, and ensure alignment with evolving business needs to support clinical trial delivery
Lead systematic professional development and provide strong support for direct reports
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Act as business owner of Takedas trial analytics platform; collaborate with the Head of GDO Business Analytics & Insights and Head of Trial Analytics Platform Operations & Support to develop product roadmap for tools and functionality (including self-serve resources, bespoke analytics, and predictive modelling)
Responsible for partnering with GDO business function leads and study teams to ensure alignment between the platform functionality and business needs. Responsible for identification of key business improvement opportunities pertaining to the operational performance across the clinical trial value chain and collaborating with key stakeholders (including Therapeutic Area Units, Data Science Instititue, and other R&D partner functions) to support identified needs through Takedas trial analytics platform
Responsible for ensuring compliance of assigned staff to training of quality standards (including Takeda SOPs, ICH GCP, and local regulations) and inspection readiness in execution of Takeda studies and trials.
Responsible for ensuring all developed platform tools and functions are compliant with internal security, risk management policies and practices, external regulatory and statutory requirements; and continuity of business-critical platform functions
Responsible for training, coaching and mentoring direct reports and overseeing coaching of new hires in navigating career progression options within Takeda
Maintain a positive, results orientated work environment, building partnerships and modelling teamwork, communicating to the teams and stakeholders in an open, balanced and objective manner.
Oversee the development and adoption of Takedas fit-for-purpose trial analytics capabilities through close collaboration with R&D functions, R&D IT, Data Science and other key stakeholders:
Provide business ownership of the tools and functions built to support the platform roadmap; Manage and prioritize the platform functionality backlog to deliver on use cases with the highest business value
Ensures the trial analytics platform is developed in line with the product roadmap, timeline, and GDO strategic priorities
Oversee technical build of the platform with support from the appropriate Takeda functions (e.g. GDT) and/or external vendors
Lead and guide the platform delivery team (comprising of internal and external resources), including platform engineers, data engineers, UI/UX designers, data scientists, and data integration specialists, to identify, develop, and implement use cases
Responsible for Sponsor Oversight of trial analytics platform deliverables and activities performed by 3rd party vendors, contractors, consultants, and FSPs
Serve as point of escalation for issue resolution for emergent issues related to the development and performance of the trial analytics platform
Serve as Subject Matter Expert for operational analytics and reporting, business intelligence, and data flows for internal initiatives and projects

This also requires working with the team to execute and the organizations to understand what is possible and where to apply them.
The ability to create and drive an analytics strategy that spans across multiple divisions and extract insights to allow leadership to make better decisions. This includes working with key stakeholders to create a data and technology strategy and apply modern data techniques to extract insights to achieve and sustain operational excellence.
Develop working relationships with internal groups, external collaborators, strategic vendors, service providers and universities to keep up to date and continue to introduce and verify viability of new methods as they are developed and applied.

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Bachelors' Degree or international equivalent in Computer Sciences, Engineering, Mathematics, Science or similar quantitative discipline required; advanced degree desired
12+ years of applicable analytical capability development, business analysis, product/project management experience in a Life Sciences or Tech organization; global experience and experience in drug development strongly preferred
5+ years of line management experience including management of staff across multiple sites/regions; experience in implementing large scale initiatives and building capabilities desired
Experience in people leadership, managing global teams and coordinating collaboration with cross-functional teams; experience managing a analytical capability delivery team highly advantageous
Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between business requirements and technical product capabilities
Experience working with IT partners and vendors for business solutions desired
Strong strategic thinking, planning, execution, and communication skills, ability to act at operational and strategic levels
Global/international experience required, including ability to collaborate with colleagues and staff in other locations
Operational experience in pharmaceutical drug development with significant direct exposure to clinical development
Healthcare business acumen with a comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical industry highly advantageous

Base Salary Range: $194,600.00 to $278,000.00, based on candidate professional experience level. Employees may also be eligible for Short Term and Long-Term Incentive benefits as well. Employees are eligible to participate in Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401(k), Charitable Contribution Match, Holidays, Personal Days & Vacation, Tuition Reimbursement Program and Paid Volunteer Time Off.
