SMX is seeking a talented Windows System Administrator to support NAWCWD in Ridgecrest, CA. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Analyze, test, troubleshoot, and evaluate existing network systems, such as Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), and internet systems or a segment of a network system. * Perform network maintenance to ensure networks operate correctly with minimal interruption. * Operate and maintain all production, test, and development systems in a Windows environment. * Perform system administration activities including, but not limited to: account management, storage management, monitoring and managing system resources (CPU, memory, disk, etc.), monitoring and auditing system logs, performing back-up and recovery, ensuring continuity of operations and security, and managing operating systems. * Test/Install Windows Server and ESXi operating systems. * Install/Upgrade COTS and GOTS applications to meet DOD requirements. Apply patches and upgrades to comply with Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs) consistent with security, information assurance, and established change control requirement. * Server Operation and Management of Windows Servers 2012/2016/2019, as well as VMWare vSphere systems. * Support a data center environment (hardware and software) to ensure maximum availability for customers. * Maintain server operating systems, COTS, and GOTS software at the versions required. * Assist with creation and maintenance of documentation to support the testing, installation, operations, and maintenance of data center equipment. * Scan systems with Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) and Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP). * Restore and/or reproduce current and legacy systems, applications, and data in accordance with directives and requirements for data and disaster recovery. Required Skills: * Windows Server 2012/2016/2019. Windows 10 Workstation. * Windows Active Directory, Group Policy Management, and Domain Name System (DNS) * Windows PowerShell/VB Scripting technologies Required Experience: * 3 + years of experience * BA/BS Degree (AA or additional years of experience can be substituted for a degree) Preferred: * Windows OS cert or equivalent * CCNA Security, CySA+, G SEC, Security+ GE, SSCP * DoD 8570 compliant (IAT Level 2) * Any other IT certifications #cjpost #LI SMX is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
