Model Operations and Controls (MOC) is an independent team within the RMG, which focuses on coordinating workflow throughout the model lifecycle process, providing oversight of all RMG controls, managing interactions with oversight groups, supporting and maintaining RMG computing infrastructure - all necessary to ensure the ongoing success of the greater RMG team.

In this role, you will:
  • Decision Support develops credit risk models which span the credit lifecycle from account origination to collections
  • Credit loss estimation models for the entire loan portfolio to support for Current Expected Credit Loss (CECL); estimation of risk weighted assets (RWA) in compliance with Basel regulations; and, economically sensitive credit loss estimation in compliance with Dodd Frank and the Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review exercises (CCAR)
  • Support models related to Pre-Provision Net Revenue (PPNR) estimates including forecasting models to support Dodd Frank and the Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review exercises (CCAR)
  • Support Operational Risk Loss and Capital and Stress testing, Financial Crimes, and Fair Lending
  • Act as a credit model subject matter expert to educate partners on requirements and monitor activities to ensure compliance with policies
  • Support the coordination of RMG model development activities to ensure deliverables are met, appropriate communication exists across teams, and any at risk items are escalated
  • Lead cross functional teams to strategize, plan, and execute a variety of programs, services and initiatives related to models
  • Support identification of models within RMG by independently challenging the business on recommended classifications and owning final classification of tools as models, EUCTs, and exclusions
  • Host model project forums for development and validation scheduling
  • Drive accountability for assigned initiatives, limit risk exposure, and create efficiencies as appropriate
  • Make decisions in highly complex and multifaceted situations requiring solid understanding of business group's functional area or products, facilitate decision making and issue resolution, and support implementation of developed solutions and plans
  • Influence, guide and lead less experienced Model Governance staff within the group
Required Qualifications, US:
  • 4+ years of Risk Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with model governance, model validation, or model risk, or project management/process facilitation related to model development or combination thereof
  • Exposure to credit risk, ideally modeling related to credit decisioning.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Experience facilitating meetings
  • Experience with risk management concepts, audit, and controls
  • Understanding of key regulatory compliance risk components, including experience driving consistency and quality across all aspects of a risk function, including a solid understanding of process controls
  • Ability to identify and manage complex issues and negotiate solutions within a geographically dispersed organization
  • Ability to be flexible and adjust plans quickly to meet changing business needs
  • Ability to quickly learn business operations and processes
  • Ability to take initiative, identify opportunities and implement change
  • Good understanding of modeling concepts, familiarity with model implementation and production, and model governance
  • Experience developing partnerships and collaborating with other business and functional areas
  • Knowledge and understanding of Shared Risk Platform (SHRP) such as reporting and issue management
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in a business or quantitative field such as, business administration, operations research, mathematics, statistics, engineering, physics, economics, or computer science
