Family Advocate
Job Description
We are looking for a Family Advocate to provide support and resource information to families, early care, and education providers; serve as a liaison among school districts, community agencies, and families. This position reports to the Family Center Director.

- Pay rate: $22-24 per hour (DOE)
- Schedule: 35 hours per week - 10.5 months

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bilingual/ Bicultural (Spanish/English)
- Prior experience empowering minorities
- Ability to maintain goals and priorities in dealing with varying challenges
- Ability to be flexible in working with people and organizations of different viewpoints
- Creativity, enthusiasm and a dedication to youth development

- Proof of TB test Clearance
- Letter of recommendation
- A completed BACR Employment Application
- Proof of COVID vaccine including booster shot if eligible
- A minimum of 48 College Units or pass the Instructional Assistance test
- Background check
Responsibilities:
- Develop a positive relationship with students and their families, Administrative Staff, School Staff at the school site, as well as SRCS and MCOE staff
- Socio-emotional support groups as needed
- Support parent involvement and engagement (planning, coordination, translation/interpretation, and execution of family events); support parent leadership opportunities (PTA, school fundraising events, parent volunteers)
- Volunteer coordination/ support
- Referral coordination and case management
- Student supervision support (arrival/dismissal/recess as needed)
