Electronic Assembler



Job Description

Ball Systems is searching for an Electronic Assembler who is highly motivated, enjoys unique challenges,
comfortable with varied assignments, is detail-oriented, and has the skill set to take on the assembly of advanced custom test equipment. The applicant will work closely with an assigned Project Engineer/Manager to solve problems, maintain project schedules and drive projects to completion.

Primary Responsibilities Include:
  • Electro-Mechanical assembly of custom test fixtures and various styles of test equipment.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics and customer specifications.
  • Electrical wiring of test fixtures, 19" rackmount cabinets and control panels.
  • Custom cable assembly using various OEM contact crimp tooling.
  • Assembly, cabling and wiring custom 19” rackmount cabinet test stand.
  • Fabricate or modify parts using shop equipment.
  • Minor soldering and wire tinning.
  • Perform manual assembly of benchtop electronic devices used in avionic systems and military systems.
  • Usage of hand assembly tools (soldering iron, power tools, wrenches, drivers).
  • Inspect wiring installations, custom mechanical parts.
  • Ensuring a high level of quality in all phases of production.
  • Ensure products and components work consistently and correctly.
  • Familiarity with testing and quality assurance procedures.
  • Test functional performance of electromechanical devices.
  • Repair and correct hardware assembly defects.
  • Inspect wiring installations, custom mechanical parts
  • Usage of DMM’s, oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc. (Not required but a plus).
  • Printed circuit board thru-hole and SMD soldering (Not required but a plus).

Qualifications:
  • 2-5 years of experience in the Electronic Technician field or similar role.
  • High Level of Detail.
  • Great Communication Skills.
  • US citizenship or current Green Card required. We cannot sponsor visas due to our military contracts. Please confirm citizenship requirements met when applying.

Desired Education:
  • Associates MET/EET/Technical Trades (or equivalent)
  • Electronics Technical Degree (ITT, Ivy Tech etc.)

Hourly Rate:
$20-$24/hr depending on experience
