Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

NIGHT SHIFT

The Certified Nurse Assistant assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates levels of patient care. He/She provides for the medical care of community patients, and maintains the medical aspects of the community patient care unit.

Job Duties:

  • To supervise patients completing the Detoxification Program with emphasis on patient safety and well being.

  • To remind patients of program rules and regulations as necessary and report infractions appropriately.

  • Label community charts.

  • To review charts to ensure that MARs in accordance with the physician’s orders.

  • To provide emotional support for patients while referring them to therapy staff to deal with clinical issues.

  • To inform medical/therapy staff of developments as appropriate.

  • Order medications from the pharmacy.

  • Supervise the self-administration of medication to verify compliance with the physician’s orders.

  • Schedule appointments for physician on property and at local office.

  • To knowledge, report and properly document all accidents, incidents, errors/omissions.

  • Maintain adequate supply of forms and supplies.

  • Assist with Lab paperwork.

  • To complete incident reports according to policy in a timely, accurate manner.

  • To communicate with other staff as necessary to promote quality patient care.

  • Liaison between doctor, nurse, and patients with any anticipated problems or patient refusal of medication, suicidal ideations, medical emergencies, etc.


Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Holds a current certification as Certified Nursing Assistant in the state of facility and maintains current certification per state requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Certified Nursing Program..

  • A minimum of one year of medical experience, preferably with some experience in treatment of chemical dependency.

  • Knowledge of principles and practices of the discipline.

  • Adheres to: Healthcare Code of Ethics

  • Knowledge of Joint Commission Standards

  • Knowledge of State & Federal Statutes Regarding:
    • Client Confidentiality

    • Drug-Free Workplace

    • Corporate Integrity & Compliance

  • Demonstrate Competencies in assessing:
    • Mental Health

    • Trauma – Abuse – Neglect – Exploitation

    • Suicide - Homicide
