Responsibilities
- Read/interpret blueprints and drawings
- Supervise, lead, and coach other team members.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Take or read measurements to plan layout procedures.
- Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on job requirements.
- Set up components for welding according to specifications of project.
- Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts which must be welded.
- Align components using calipers, rulers, etc., and clamp pieces.
- Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions.
- Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.
- Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
- Working knowledge of computers is preferred.
- Previous paint boothexperience a plus but not required.
Qualifications
- Must be able to weld steel. Aluminumwelding a plus.
- Experienced using a variety of welding equipment and procedures.
- GMAW
- SMAW
- Knowledge of tungsten arc welding.
- Experience in using electrical or manual tools, including saws, squares, calipers, tape measures, etc.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
- Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves, etc.).
- Valid Drivers license
- Ability to travel for work.
