Responsibilities
  • Read/interpret blueprints and drawings
  • Supervise, lead, and coach other team members.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Take or read measurements to plan layout procedures.
  • Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on job requirements.
  • Set up components for welding according to specifications of project.
  • Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts which must be welded.
  • Align components using calipers, rulers, etc., and clamp pieces.
  • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions.
  • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.
  • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
  • Working knowledge of computers is preferred.
  • Previous paint boothexperience a plus but not required.
Qualifications
  • Must be able to weld steel. Aluminumwelding a plus.
  • Experienced using a variety of welding equipment and procedures.
  • GMAW
  • SMAW
  • Knowledge of tungsten arc welding.
  • Experience in using electrical or manual tools, including saws, squares, calipers, tape measures, etc.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
  • Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves, etc.).
  • Valid Drivers license
  • Ability to travel for work.
