Robert Half is looking for an ambitious, eager Controller to join the team at an well-respected services company. This is a leadership role with responsibility over an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, you will plan and direct all accounting operational functions, manage the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assess accounting and internal control systems, and guide departmental staff. Your responsibilities in this role
- Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
- Manage daily cash and prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals
- Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and General Ledger analysis
- Ensure client satisfaction by reviewing deliverables of self and team
- Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis
- Direct finance department activities, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
- Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective
- Drive the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure the timely cash collection
- Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners
- Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed
- Complete tasks beyond formal job responsibilities

- Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines

- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

- Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail

- Comprehensive knowledge of month end closings

- Knowledge of Manufacturing Cost Accounting

- General ledger experience preferred

- Strong familiarity with Manufacturing Cost Accounting

- Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

- Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired

- Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations

- Ability to effectively interact, verbally and in writing

- Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment

- CPA/MBA preferred

- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

- Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus

- Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
