Robert Half is seeking an Email Marketing Manager/Automation Manager for a nonprofit organization. The ideal candidate will create and execute on an email marketing strategy and ensure a high-quality experience of emails for the community. This includes building and sending emails, audience segmentation and targeting, testing and reporting, providing user training and support, supporting email policies and best practices, and quality assurance of Marketo. This role has an emphasis on strategy and execution (vs. content creation), making recommendations and changes to ultimately improve current email practices and efficacy of campaigns.


Responsibilities:

• Lead adoption and utilization of marketing automation tools. Execute journeys and automations using Marketo to create email series, nurture programs, one-off emails, and support multi-channel experiences.

• Assist with segmentation, list management, and lead nurturing processes within the marketing automation tool and support the integration of Marketo with Salesforce and other programs as needed.

• Onboard, train, and support users. Onboard and train staff users on the marketing automation tool. Provide ongoing support for staff.

• Create, test, and send personalized email campaigns from the marketing automation tool

• Support the development of new campaigns. Execute all aspects of marketing automation tool support required to support emerging opportunities.

• Analyze and monitor data. Build and monitor reports for tracking key metrics. Re-energize programs that have been on hiatus. Provide recommendations to enhance programs to key stakeholders. Balance internal and external insights, quantitative and qualitative data, and implement iterative changes to improve results.

• Assist with the implementation of email policies and best practices. Assist with quality assurance, policy and legal adherence, and brand standards pertaining to executing email campaigns in the marketing automation tool.

• Monitor email list health. Produce reports for individual emails and overall email program performance. Maintain a healthy email list through regular list hygiene and monitoring email frequency, inbox placement/spam flags, and other deliverability criteria. Lead others in data audits of Salesforce fields built for marketing purposes.

• Influence existing and future digital product development. Support the development of onboarding and offboarding practices, content development, content distribution, and planning of product iterations.

• Nice-to-have/do: write and produce emails. Design and craft the copy of emails to brand standards.


Requirements:

• Experience using a marketing automation tool required (Marketo and Salesforce experience preferred but not mandatory – but must have experience with an email marketing automation tool)

• Strong knowledge of current digital and email marketing industry best practices and challenges

• Relevant experience with segmentation and analysis, including database queries and reporting tools

• Ability to solve problems with ambiguity, provide recommendations on production within the marketing ecosystem, and demonstrable expertise leading the adoption of marketing automation tools

• Experience with A/B and other forms of testing

• Excellent written and verbal communication

• A passion for mission

• Strong project management skills

• Customer service skills and knowledge sharing – answering questions, digging up information, and being responsive to requests. Help others learn by creating and sharing knowledge, solutions, and helpful tips and best practices.

• High attention to process and detail – analyze data, systems, processes, and documentation to identify errors. Provide support and retraining where needed

• Demonstrable experience training non-technical users is preferred

• Certifications including Marketo Engaged Certified detail oriented/Associate or certification from HubSpot, Pardot, or Salesforce Marketing Cloud a plus

• Knowledge of HTML and forms a plus

• Experience with customer service or client support is a plus
