Job Description
You are a creative marketing pen-slinger with a mastery of written content, hypnotizing story-telling skills, and hard-won experience transforming web page fragments and B2B gobbledygook into epic poetry that moves hearts and opens wallets.
Storytelling has changed. Content marketing and customer journeys are not always linear—and sometimes, they can look like a bowl of spaghetti. We're creating a unique brand story that matches an unpredictable path, and our nurtures prove ‘on- and off-ramps’ that fit our complex Buyer's Journey.
In this role, you will be a storyteller with heart, have a deep technical background, and have the fighting spirit to elevate our content all day. You will take ho-hum words and breathe new life into them. Also, you'll be setting up governance and best practices for content creation.
As a leader, you'll consistently deliver high-quality content and strategy that aligns with our brand's personality. You must be a team player since you'll collaborate with C-Suite, senior stakeholders across Marketing, and global product teams. You will be generating, distributing, and coming up with a steady stream of multimedia stories across owned and sponsored channels worldwide that support brand positioning and GTM across all BUs.

- Build an editorial COE and editorial calendar to produce highly targeted content while overseeing the platform we use to house our content library.
- Take a bull horn to our voice and promote it to internal teams and external platforms, services, and products.
- Create arcs across the Buyer’s Journey with focus on connecting awareness and owned thought leadership content to mid-funnel.
- Plan a strategy that builds our brand into a trusted friend, then execute that strategy across multiple channels and each stage of the Buyer's Journey.
- Create compelling content that helps potential customers better understand their problems and find ideal solutions.
- Manage a content engine that drives relevance by consistently producing the right assets at the right time for the targeted channels.
- Grow organic reach, impressions, and engagement across all digital channels by producing content and strategy that inspires.
- Empower content creators to do their best work and to keep pushing until we've exhausted all A/B testing.
- Create a single content management system and editorial calendaring system.
- Build a centralized content analytics dashboards and connect it with the broader Freshworks’ MarTech stack.
- Nurture leads more effectively with personalized content that is tightly connected across thought leadership, web, email, and social media.
- Increase leads from free trials and gated forms by delivering compelling content: web pages, thought leadership, blogs, ebooks, reports, and whitepapers.
- Create brand loyalty among key stakeholders: customers, prospects, analysts, investors.
- 15+ years relevant experience as editor and writer, 8+ years at a tech company or comparable experience.
- Proven superhero-like ability to near-instantly grok and reformulate the value of business software products in a gripping way for buying audiences and non-technical humans.
- Team player energized by swapping ideas with others and the confidence to pitch it to our CMO
- Have a ‘CEO mentality’ which requires little to no hand holding.
- Lights-out copyediting hawkeye.
- Knowledge of SEO to focus on building content that brings in the bucks.
