Summary
This position will manage product development projects within the Industrial/Commercial Fan business through creating, maintaining, and processing accurate design information in the development of new products. This position will interact heavily with sales and marketing to ensure the voice of the customer is understood. The position will work with partner suppliers to leverage their expertise in product development. This position will also require test development and analysis for new and existing products. The position will be involved in compliance and regulatory testing to ensure all products are compliant with relevant industry standards. The position requires hands on work to develop and deliver high quality industrial products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Be an integral part of activities associated with design and development of innovative products; help to maintain engineering standard components libraries; generate product and system procedures and engineering administrative support functions.
Use sound engineering principals to refine product concepts in reliable product designs that meet performance, compliance, product integrity, safety, and aesthetic requirements. Will be responsible for design, development, and implementation of new products as well as sustaining efforts for existing products.
Be able to manage product development projects independently and an ability to leverage outside resources and suppliers.
Provide recommendations and assist in creating and maintaining engineering standard templates, notes and other items used throughout the engineering department.
Responsible for review of drawing/specification packages to ensure consistency in dimensioning, tolerances, nomenclature etc...
Will conduct electrical and industrial control tests on a wide variety of Hunter Fan Products. In addition, may run tests on competitive products.
Develop test methods, procedures, and reports for reliability or compliance tests.
Knowledge of schematics and wiring diagrams and the ability to interpret circuit functions.
Review compliance reports
Maintain LabView programs
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Strong project management skills. (PMP is a plus)
Experience with AC & DC motors.
Experience with variable frequency motor drives.
Experience with DC motor design is a plus.
Experience with industrial wiring codes and standards is preferred.
Experience with Industrial Controls Modbus & BACnet is preferred.
Industrial Networking Experience TCP/IP & RTU Networks is preferred.
Familiarity with reliability and compliance testing.
Experience with data collection and instrumentation National Instruments LabView Preferred.
Experience using and maintaining lab equipment oscilloscopes, power analyzers, and multimeters.
Experience working effectively with cross-functional teams
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
SolidWorks CAD experience is a plus.
Education/Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Electro-Mechanical or Electrical Controls)
5+ years of experience in Engineering Design
R&D lab and/or testing experience
