Floor Manager

As a restaurant operations manager, you oversee all aspects of a food service business. Your duties include hiring and training employees, coordinating work and schedules, developing working relationships with front and back of house staff, overseeing inventory ordering, and daily maintenance of equipment and the building. Qualifications for a job as a restaurant operations manager vary, but many require studying hospitality at a college or culinary institute. Prior experience in the food service industry is essential, and you must have strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills to thrive in this career.

Duties and Responsibilities:
* Practice OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards and comply with all company safety policies.
* Train and schedule employees to ensure proper coverage. Monitor performance and recommend corrective action. Alert management of potentially serious issues.
* Respond in a prompt and professional manner to guest requests and complaints. Make appropriate service recovery gestures according to established guidelines in order to ensure total guest satisfaction.
* Oversee day to day operations.
* Organize and supervise shifts.
* Assist with setting and communication company policies and processes.
* Prepare regular reports to upper management.
* Ensure staff follows health and safety regulations.
* Oversee cash handling and check/credit policies and procedures.
* Inspect restaurant and bars daily during the shift to ensure high quality food and beverage are being served properly according to the Intercrew LA Standards.
* Inspect the restaurant and bars on cleanliness daily during the shift.
* Inspect liquor/wine pour standards.
* Ensure the restaurant/bar/kitchen is set up for the flowing shift.
* Conduct pre-shift meetings to inform staff of daily events. Review daily specials.
* Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination within the hotel departments.
* Direct monthly inventories; prepare and submit inventory reports to accounting in a timely manner.
* Collaborate with the culinary team and ensure that quality of food is satisfactory.
* Conduct orders of food and beverage supplies.
* Attend all mandatory meetings.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
* Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with customers and employees
* Reading and writing abilities are utilized often when completing paperwork, scheduling, and giving and receiving instructions.
* Mathematical skills, including basic math, cash handling, are utilized frequently.
* Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities are used often.
* Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency.
* May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
