This position requires the ability to move about for long periods of time, perform repetitive movements, and operate equipment, tools, or controls. It also requires the ability to move items weighing up to 40 pounds. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential duties with or without an accommodation.
Candidate must be willing to participate in the Occupational Health Program for LARC employees, including receiving immunizations recommended by Occupational Health Services.

Job Summary
This position is for an animal husbandry technician in our large animal area. This area oversees all USDA covered species.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Monitors animal health for overt signs of disease and reports any changes to the supervisor and vet staff.
- Handles, restrains, and transfers animals as directed.
- Assists higher level Animal Care Technicians, vet staff, and facility users as directed.
- Performs routine animal care (feeding, watering, cleaning cages).
- Prepares and applies experimental treatments.
- Keeps accurate logs of routine care.
