Inspector
Job Description
Mechanical/Receiving Quality Control Inspector performs inspection activities on purchased products, raw materials, and precision machined components to assess conformance of products to the design as defined by the engineering drawings and/or specifications.
Additional responsibilities will include assisting Final Inspection with inspecting assembly products to verify dimensions, including tolerances delineated on the drawing, adequate process control with procedures, standards, shop practices and workmanship including finish, tightness, burrs, cleanliness, and general appearance. Interact with Vendors on a limited basis. Must maintain accurate files & records and generates required reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Effectively works from written travelers, blueprints, production schematics, quality reports and procedures;
- Perform both Receiving and Mechanical Inspection as required;
- Perform complex layout inspection characteristics;
- Responsible for advising status of work and any difficulties with those concerned;
- May provide technical guidance and assistance to lesser skilled departmental personnel;
- Maintain production quotas;
- May receive raw materials;
- Perform tasks equal to or exceeding established standards;
- Keep quality up to acceptable standards with little discrepant work;
