CDL-A Driver

Express Employment Professionals are currently seeking CDL-A drivers with Hazmat & Tanker endorsements for a chemical manufacturing company in the Buffalo, NY area.

PAY RATE:$22.00-25.00/Hourly

HOURS: 1st shift 8AM - 4:30PM/ MONDAY-FRIDAY

SOME DAYS DRIVER WILL NEED TO TRAVEL TO BINGHAMTON ON THESE DAY START TIME CAN BE AS EARLY AS 2AM OR 3AM

SUMMARY:
Drives diesel powered trucks, tractor trailer and tanker combinations to transport and deliver chemicals, or materials in liquid, loose, or packaged form by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Drives tractor trailer/tanker combinations, straight trucks, and vans to deliver orders and make pickups to customers in and beyond 100 mile radius.
-Inspects truck for defects before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition.
-Maintains driver logs and all other paperwork according to DOT regulations and company policies.
-Unassisted unloading may be required at customer's docks (depends on individual customer).
-Required to load or assist workers in loading and unloading vehicles.
-Handle chemicals according to proper procedures and regulations.
-Wears appropriate personal protective equipment and respirator as necessary.
-May be required to work in the warehouse on days not required to drive.
-Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
-Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees of organization.
-Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
-Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
-Current Class A Commercial Drivers License with Hazardous Materials and Tank Endorsement (X).
-Must have valid DOT/Medical Card

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
-High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training
-Three years prior driving experience preferred.
-Some prior forklift experience preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
-While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
-The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions, and vibration.
-The noise level in the work environment is usually loud (driving conditions)
