Data Privacy Program Manager

Job Summary:

  • Responsible for driving the technology implementation of the data privacy and protection roadmap which includes the design, build, and execution of various data privacy initiatives.

  • Develop the program strategy, supporting business case, and high-level project plans.

  • Partner with senior leadership in the business, compliance/controls area, and technology organization to drive strategy and execution.

  • Manage cross-functional dependencies, issues, and risks to ensure a successful program delivery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drives the technology roadmap in support of the Data Privacy Program.

  • Drives IT solutions to ensure they meet the business needs, balancing with a pragmatic and integrated approach to the design of technical solutions. Able to weigh alternatives, and balance conflicting needs.

  • Responsible for developing integrated program plans that detail program objectives, business case, structure, approach, budgets, and schedules.

  • Communicates with Technology leadership, business leadership, and business consultants to communicate program strategy, direction, and changes.

  • Responsible for delivering all projects contained in the IT project portfolio on time, within budget, and meeting the strategic and business requirements.

  • Responsible for tracking key project milestones and recommending adjustments to Project Managers.

  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, steering committees, and sponsors to ensure stakeholder groups align to meet the clients needs.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of

  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in the data privacy and protection area. Must be well versed in regulatory /industry standards and trends.

  • Must have experience in enterprise program implementation of in data privacy and other control functions.

  • Experienced in risk management, issue tracking, change management, and requirements gathering.

  • Principles of banking and finance and securities industry operations.

Skill in

  • Data Privacy and Protection, Operational risk management, Compliance, Audit, and Implementation of Control frameworks, Enterprise implementation, leadership experience, strategic planning, business acumen, application development, and change management.

Ability to

  • Well-versed in Data Privacy and Protection developments and trends

  • Identify and understand issues, problems, and opportunities; compare data from different sources to draw conclusions.

  • Clearly convey information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message.

  • Use effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions; recommend or take action that is consistent with available facts, constraints, and probable consequences.

  • Develop and use collaborative relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals.

  • Make internal and external clients and their needs a primary focus of actions; develop and sustain productive client relationships.

Education/Previous Experience:

  • Minimum of B.S. in Computer Science, MIS or related degree ten (10) years of related experience including management or leadership experience and project life cycle methodologies and standards or a combination of education, training and experience

  • Experience in the Data Privacy and Protection area

  • Has implemented enterprise-wide programs in support of the control functions.
