We are currently looking to add an IT Help Desk Technician to our team. In this role, you will be part of an IT team that ensures proper computer operation, resolution of end user assistance requests, and secure asset management. From our office in Novi, you will support Berkshire team members located onsite and throughout the U.S.

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Setup new and maintain existing end user desktop hardware, to include desktop computer, laptop, tablet, and monitors
    • Setup new and maintain end user company cellular (phone) contracts
    • Maintain all end user and IT assets in asset management software
    • Assist in providing Level I Support to associates throughout the company.
    • Use service desk software to record, track and document the request, including all decisions made, and actions taken to final resolution.
    • Perform hands-on fixes remotely or in person, including installing and upgrading software, hardware installation, implementing file backups, and configuring systems and applications.
    • Access software updates, drivers, knowledge bases, and FAQ resources to aid in problem resolution.
    • Perform post-resolution follow ups with end users as required.
    • Assist in developing help sheets and FAQ lists for end users as required.
    • Escalate problems or trends (when required) to IT management.
    • Adhere to site audit responsibility policies and procedures.
    • Other duties as assigned.


    Experience and Skills
    THE MOST QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL HAVE:
    • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology and/or 1 year experience working as an IT asset manager
    • Previous knowledge of advanced computer hardware, including desktops, laptops, and smartphones
    • Application support experience with Microsoft Office (preferred)
    • Experience working with service desk best practices (preferred)
    • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning skills.
    • Strong documentation skills.
