Associate Attorney (Hybrid Remote, Home)

A prominent full-service law firm with locations in Newport and Downtown Los Angeles is seeking an Associate Attorney with 2+ years of product liability litigation experience, and class-action defense. This firm represents large-scale auto manufacturers as national discovery counsel, as well as strategic product liability defense counsel. The ideal attorney will have product liability litigation experience managing discovery, drafting motions, taking/defending depositions, and making court appearances, as well as foundational experience in class action defense and regulatory law.

Associate Attorney Role

Legal Specialty: Commercial auto products liability defense, including mass tort, MDL, class action defense, warrantees; Supporting 2 Partners, responsible for counseling the firm’s largest client around product liability discovery matters.

Associate Attorney Responsibilities

At least 1 year (max 5), civil litigation or equivalent experience in discovery strategy and management.

Reporting to lead partner of large-scale product liability team working directly with in-house counsel of primary corporate client, a top 10 international corporate in industry with HQ in Orange County.

The first step in your transition to in-house counsel.

• Direct development of discovery and strategic oversight of in-house legal strategy
• Advise in-house corporate clients on discovery production
• Work in tandem with outside counsel (AM Law 20): Outside counsel for law & motion work and litigation court strategy
• Some California in-court appearance work, representing client in depositions, taking and defending depositions.
