BI Visualization Lead (Remote)

A media services organization in New Jersey is currently seeking an experienced IT professional to join their staff Remotely as their new BI Visualization Lead. In this role, the BI Visualization Lead (Remote) will be responsible for gathering business objectives and requirements and then building various BI front-end solutions (dashboards, reports, visualizations, self-service tools).

Responsibilities:

• Engage with business stakeholders and data product managers to effectively capture business objects and requirements for analytical use cases
• Build and oversee the development and execution of data visualization and self-service data products which deliver an intuitive and action-oriented user experience
• Build relationships with diverse business partners to understand current and future business needs
• Build and grow a team of BI developers offshore
• Align business requirements to data availability ensuring that the proper data is available to support the use case
• Prep, shape, and model data from a variety of sources to load into the PowerBI solution
• Measure and improve adoption and user engagement of BI solution portfolio
• Implement methodologies and standards for all cycles of data visualization and self-service solutions
• Partner with the data engineering and other functional teams to accelerate the data maturity of the organization
• Champion analytics capabilities, including implementing UI/UX principles, data quality, sustainable maintenance, and fast, iterative experimentation and measurement
• Assist with data governance standards and principles
• Ensure compliance with data quality and data protection policies
• Perform other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of relevant experience developing dashboards, data visualizations, analytical reports, and self-service tools
• 3+ years leading BI developers
• Bachelor's Degree
• Experience working with data engineering teams to determine the appropriate area in a data pipeline for data modeling and transformations
• Proficient in the use of DAX and PowerQuery
• Strong knowledge and experience prepping data to meet the requirements of a visualization output
• Expert level proficiency in SQL with strong experience working with large sets of data
• Strong passion for business reporting, analysis, and working with large sets of data
• In-depth knowledge of Data Visualization and presentation best practices
• Expertise in developing in Cloud environments
• Experience working in an Agile Development environment
• Great interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong attention to detail
• Highly organized

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science
• Experience in ETL tool, such as Alteryx or Python
