Clinical Educator for Georgia Heart Institute

Job Summary: Coordinates and provides instruction to new and tenured clinical/non-clinical staff related to orientation and ongoing competency assessments utilizing a variety of settings and methodologies, including classroom and off site education. Partners with Director of Staff Development, administrators and other clinical staff in determining skills assessed for competency based upon new education, clinical techniques/processes, etc. and determines appropriate evaluation methods for each. Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates ongoing education to meet organizational needs. Serves a professional resource for internal and external customers. Incorporates critical thinking skills, evidence-based practice and quality into all educational activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse currently licensed in Georgia.
  • Current BLS certification required; PALS, ACLS preferred.
  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing required.
  • 5 years of medical office/clinical care experience within the last 5 years. Formal clinical education experience and/or preceptorship experience preferred.

Physical Demands:

  • Lift up to 100 lbs occasionally.
  • Carries weight up to 50 lbs occasionally.
