This Medicare & Retirement Product Manager is responsible for the development, management and implementation or sun setting of Ancillary products for M&R and C&S Dual Special Needs Plan (DSNP) Medicare Advantage products.





As an M&R Product Manager, you will establish collaborative relationships with external and internal stakeholders, identify objectives and initiatives to guide vendor initiatives, conduct regular status meetings to review issue resolution, project status, plan yearly benefit implementations, and evaluate overall product performance. You will gather competitor information as needed and inform benefit decision making each year if necessary and strategically think about how the consumer experience should work compared to current status.

Primary Responsibilities:




  • Act as the Product liaison between UnitedHealthcare and internal / external vendors who are directly impacting our membership with their services

  • Resolve internal/external operational issues that impact members' ability to access supplemental benefits

  • Coordinate activity with Ancillary vendor management team to ensure consistent vendor oversight through shared processes and procedures

  • Oversee benefit management by internal and external vendors

  • Resolve issues, oversee benefit descriptions and member materials for accuracy and clarity of message

  • Work with internal stakeholders to efficiently facilitate delivery of Ancillary services to members

  • May be project-based and involve working within multiple product functions

  • Navigate and influence multiple cross-functional teams in a complex, matrix work environment

  • Support marketing and sales initiatives to communicate member value proposition

  • Manage cross-segment projects and initiatives that require problem solving, relationship building, influencing, and analyzing

  • Adapt departmental plans and priorities to address business and operational challenges

  • Influence innovation across teams to ensure aligned; cohesive progress across multiple areas including technology, marketing, and service operations

  • Review vendor performance against contractual expectations and facilitate or influence changes to product portfolio to improve competitive position and optimal product performance

  • Work with internal or external business constituents to recommend product future direction or respond to product inquiries

  • Provide explanations and interpretations within area of expertise

Required Qualifications:




  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience

  • 3+ years of Product Management / Product development experience

  • 3+ years of project management experience leveraging cross-functional teams

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Ability to occasional travel. This position may require travel from time- to-time, but not on a regular basis. The travel may be for training or other work-related duties

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary/hourly range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary/hourly range for Connecticut/Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
