Pool Aquatics Lead
The Pool Aquatics Lead assists in training and scheduling certified lifeguards to cover credit and noncredit class hours as well as open recreation times; performs lifeguarding duties; and assists in planning pool events.
Duties include performing lifeguard duties for 10-15 hours per week; assisting in scheduling the use of pool and lifeguards for HCC and outside agencies; assisting in planning and executing special pool events for students and employees; performing regular safety and cleaning inspections of pool and equipment to reduce hazards and to provide maximum safety and comfort to pool patrons; filing necessary reports and work requests for maintenance and cleaning; ensuring that established policies, procedures and safety rules for pool personnel and patrons are followed; working closely with credit, noncredit, and recreation to determine the best use of the pool; and performing specific job tasks/functions unique to position as assigned by supervisor.
General work schedule is 15 hours per week scheduled evenings, 5 to 9:30 p.m. Final schedule will be determined by the supervisor.
Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.
High school diploma or GED equivalent, current lifeguard certification, and certification in first aid and CPR are required. Other requirements include two years of directly-related aquatics experience, familiarity with MS Excel, MS Teams, and knowledge of Lifeguard in Service training procedures. Pool Operator and Water Safety Instructor certification are preferred.
