The Financial Analyst is responsible for assisting the organizations Controller by providing accounting support to the St. Louis Manufacturing Plants; duties include performing monthly closing activities, preparing account reconciliations, assisting with budgets and forecasts, calculating new item costs and processing new item load sheets, and assisting with capital project and asset tracking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the organizations Controller in the development of the budget and forecasts.

  • Analyze financial results to determine present and future financial performance.

  • Assist in preparing analysis of month-end results for senior management.

  • Prepare journal entries.

  • Maintain monthly close checklist for Finance team.

  • Prepare account reconciliations (i.e. Inventory, Unvouchered account, etc.).

  • Review general ledger accounts for reasonableness and resolve discrepancies.

  • Work with capital project managers to track project spending

  • Coordinate new product item loads (i.e., calculate costs; communicate and coordinate system loads).

  • Assist with overall review of standard costs.

  • Assist with annual physical inventory for the St. Louis sites.

  • Participation with special projects as required.

Experience and Education:

  • 3+ years work experience in a related position or field required with prior experience in manufacturing cost accounting preferred; Prior experience with ERPLx and PeopleSoft or similar software systems a plus

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance required

  • Demonstrated analytical proficiency with the ability to understand and correlate complex business issues into simple cause and effect explanations

  • Excellent formal and informal written and oral communication skills;

  • Willingness to take accountability for producing accurate information and to perform tasks using the highest ethical standards

  • Good command of standard MS Office Applications Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
