About this job

Using data to drive decisions and customer experiences is key for CarMax and its ability to lead the used automotive industry. In this role you will have the opportunity to architect artificial intelligence, machine learning, and deep learning solutions that will help CarMax solve a broad range of complex problems.

What You'll Do

• Partner with technology and data science leaders to understand use cases and create, communicate, and implement architectural patterns for ML and AI systems.
• Develop architectural patterns and blueprints for large scale machine learning solutions.
• Provide technical guidance to Machine Learning Engineers.
• Research and evaluate emerging technologies, providing recommendations for their use in furthering Artificial Intelligence.
• Evangelize data science and machine learning capabilities through large forums and individual communications to a wide variety of audience expertise.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in a Technology related field
• 10+ years of experience in Software and/or Data Engineering roles
• 3+ years of experience leading the design for Machine Learning/AI/Deep Learning solutions in an event driven environment
• 3+ years of cloud experience in GCP, AWS or Azure
• Relevant certifications in Azure e.g. ML specialty
• Thorough understanding of Python and libraries used for pipeline and model development.
• Expertise in cloud technologies to implement Feature Stores, MLOps, CICD
• Experience working with Databricks, Spark, Azure Machine Learning, SageMaker, AutoML or similar platforms
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and microservice-oriented architectures
• Experience with Natural Language Processing or Computer Vision
• Work Location and Arrangement: Work location is flexible if approved by the Company except that position may not be performed remotely from Hawaii or Colorado
