Mill Operator - Nights

• Responsible for operating and adjusting, maintain oil levels for three CPM pellet mills.
• Monitoring weights, feed rates and water temperatures for 2 Log Machine
• The Mill operator will be responsible for monitoring / operation of 30-50 different pieces of machinery to include: augers, screws conveyors, air compressors, shakers, screeners, multi clones throughout the facility
• Maintain watch-over raw material bin levels for Bin 7and the log machine Interjects bin.
• Regulate cooler speed to obtain the optimal pellet temperatures, moisture and pellet density ratio.
• Monitor Auto grease system, check supply tote and refill grease barrel

• Continuously watch for problems troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, spot fires, and hot bearings.
• Maintain pellet mill feed rates and adjust or change pellet mill rolls/dies accordingly.
• Use AC drives and controllers to maintain optimal production and quality pellet output. Bin moisture pellet moisture/density checks every hour.
• Complete a Shift Report outlining any mechanical issues or repairs, or adjustments made
• On the Pellet Mill Report, operators must track roll life, die life, oil levels, pressures, and temperatures of the C.P.M. mills, start-up and shut down of the mills, die and roll changes
• Maintain a clean work area by clearing piles of sawdust around the facility and pellet mill deck, empty roll bins, dump torn bags

• As a Mill operator maintaining communication with the Dryer operator throughout your shift is essential. Dyer operators and Mill operators work as a team to maximize production and maintain process flow.
• Verify that all paperwork is complete and accurate, complete daily Shift Summary Reports and checklist.
• Report all near misses, incidents, accidents
• Actively participate in submitting Safety Concern Forms ‘’SCF” whenever you see an unsafe work practice or an immediate safety concern.
• Attend all regular scheduled safety meeting
• Be professional, have a positive attitude, strong work ethic and a safety-first mentality

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Requires working knowledge of all aspects of the production process.
• Requires a high degree of technical, analytical skills.
• Must be able to pass the company background check, pre-employment drug screening JLG reach lift and forklift certification.
• Must be able to lift to 40 to 50 lbs regularly 150 lbs occasionally. stand for long periods of time 12 hours per day.
• Requires ability to use catwalks and climb ladders that connect catwalks up to 30 feet high.
• Requires mechanical and troubleshooting skills to solve pellet mill maintenance problems.
• Requires the ability to do simple to complex math calculations.
• Must be able to work in a high temperature/ humidity area.
