The OAS Payer Digital Transformation practice is growing, and laser focused on using technology to improve health care in the US and beyond. We support Health Plans through assessment of capabilities, design of industry leading solutions, and flawless execution of delivery, all in service of reducing costs, and delivering a better experience for members. Our team acts as the critical translation layer between the complex business problems faced by our clients, and the technology solutions which solve those problems. A Senior Consultant in the Payer Tech Digital Transformation Practice is passionate about making healthcare better for everyone and brings that passion to our clients. A Senior Consultant has exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills that allow them to distill data into executive summaries and visualizations. They are eager to showcase their qualitative problem-solving skills by developing frameworks to solve issues within the 1-2 project workstreams they’re engaged for a client and can drive end-to-end deliverable creation. They are comfortable in all phases of the project lifecycle, from conducting stakeholder interviews and collecting and designing requirements, to coordinating with the technology development teams, through implementing solutions and monitoring their success post-deployment. They thrive on working cross-functionally alongside a diverse group of individuals and are as eager to mentor junior resources as they are to seek out guidance and feedback to grow as an executive.
This position will be responsible for planning and supporting projects to both assess our clients’ capabilities (both business and technology) and implementing solutions to meet our client’s business needs.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Drive results on 1-2 concurrent projects or workstreams consisting of cross-functional teams of business and technology practitioners, supporting on-time, on-budget, and high-quality solutions
- Create visualizations such as storyboards, journey maps, and process flows to stimulate design discussions
- Develop meaningful and astute observations, conclusions, and solutions using research and critical thinking skills
- Synthesize quantitative and qualitative data in presentation materials and other types of deliverables
- Contribute meaningfully to the development of client proposals and other business development activities as directed
- Forge trusted advisor relationships with clients through strong EQ, communication skills, and domain knowledge
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members in a billable or non-billable capacity in preparation for Manager level responsibility
- Collaborate with other teams across OAS to identify new ways to bring value to our clients

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3+ years of experience at a consulting firm, or 3+ years of internal consulting experience in a role equivalent to a Senior Consultant within the industry
- 2+ years of experience working on healthcare projects (preferably in the payer space)
- Ability to travel from 25% – 50% when safely able to do so
- Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. Preferred Qualifications:
- MPH or MBA Degree
- Functional level understanding of technology solutions
- Experience working on Medicare / Medicaid related projects
- Experience supporting or leading the work of cross-functional teams without a direct reporting relationship
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts in easy-to-understand terms
- Experience employing a structured approach to problem solving and know when to zoom in and when to zoom out
- Solid written and verbal communication

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The Salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The Salary range for Connecticut/Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
