The Senior Manager of ESG Thought Leadership serves as an integral member of BDO's ESG Center of Excellence. You will work with members of the firm's Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Leadership Team to define and curate BDO's ESG presence in the marketplace.
You understand the complex world of ESG and sustainability and can speak to the issues and opportunities companies are facing in a clear, compelling, and actionable way. You pride yourself on excellent grammar and a strong understanding of AP Style and you are proud to call yourself a writer. You have a rigorous commitment to quality, excellent executive presence, and are adept at seeing the big picture and articulating business issues through compelling storytelling.

Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree, required, with a focus in Journalism, Public Relations, English, Communications or Sustainability, preferred
Experience
- Ten (10) or more years of experience in journalism, public relations, content strategy and development, professional services or B2B communications, required
- Strong technical knowledge of ESG and sustainability; familiarity with major ESG reporting frameworks including GRI, SASB, TCFD, among others, required
- Experience with corporate writing, editing, proofreading, presentations, and research, required
- Experience working in-house at a public relations agency, or as a journalist, preferred
- Professional services or ESG/sustainability consulting experience, preferred
Software
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, required
- Any research platforms (Verdantix, Factiva, Lexis Nexis, Gartner, etc.), required
- Familiarity with project management systems, preferred
- Knowledge of OneDrive, preferred
Language
- In-depth knowledge of English, spelling, grammar, and punctuation; and of legal and ethical aspects of journalism, required

- Impeccable writing skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work autonomously and take ownership over content development, but willing to accept feedback from stakeholders
- Advanced understanding of AP style and ability to edit and write for a variety of channels including speech, video, podcast, web, social, etc.

- Ability to work under tight deadlines and flexibility to changing requirements
- Ability to work as part of a team, maintaining a positive, can-do attitude
