In Home Furniture Repair Technician Apprenticeship



Summary of Positions

Completes the required training program to become a skilled technician as described in the Levin Apprentice Program Guidelines.

Essential Duties
  • Master Essential Skills List in different types of repair.
  • Inspect, evaluate, and repair of merchandise.
  • Practice safe and secure material handling methods in accordance with product handling standards.
  • Report errors found on documents to supervisor.
  • Complete all documentation, including digital photos, neatly and accurately.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of customer parts.
  • Operate manual and mechanical equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Physical Demands:
    • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers using telephone.
    • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, stand , push, pull and lift cartons weighing approximately 50 - 100+ lbs. repetitively.
    • Ability to use vision to read documents and computer screen.
    • Ability to use hands to type information into computer.


    Required Skills
    Required Skills and Abilities:
    • Experience with paints, fill sticks, markers and hand tools.
    • Ability to color match using paints, markers and crayons.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication, and listening skills.
    • Basic reading and comprehension skills.
    • Ability to complete paperwork in an accurate, neat and efficient manner. (we don't use paper...everything is on a digital phone)
    • Excellent organizational skills.
    • Outstanding customer service skills.
    • Knowledge of GERS system preferred. (we no longer use GERS...our techs only use Dispatch Track on their phones and clock in eTime and use email)


    Education and Experience:
    • Previous creative expertise.
    • One year Levin experience as a Stock, Material Handler or Delivery associate.
    • Annual Appraisal rating of 3 (meets expectations) or higher.


    Supervisor Responsibilities:

    This position does not supervise others

    Work Environment:

    Warehouse and Residential

    Work Schedule:

    Scheduled shift, may vary due to business needs during the apprentice period.

    Certified In home technician schedule is Tuesday 11:30-8pm, Wednesday through Saturday 8:00am-4:30pm. (Tuesday-Saturday 8-430)
