In this dynamic technology & process automation role, you will provide cross-functional support, guidance and hands-on execution in introducing best-in-class operational capabilities as part of an organization that is ushering in transformative change throughout the Optum enterprise. You will help implement or transform capabilities at Optum in all aspects of the operational lifecycle of our IT Asset Management portfolio. You’ll help leaders that are working to build elite teams that drive and maintain high-quality execution and operational excellence, delivering technology solutions, meeting business needs, and maximizing customer experience, growth and retention. Your support of the strategic vision, tactical excellence and consultative skills will enable others to resolve business problems that affect multiple functions or disciplines, and ultimately, the lives of millions.

This role will be supporting the IT Asset Management Organization at Optum. The ideal candidate has multiple years’ experience with IT operational, engineering, process, and applications support, is a self-starter, innovative, and not afraid to challenge the status quo. Successful candidates have a proven ability to network, influence without direct authority, and quickly build relationships to work cross-functionally to achieve a desired result.

This is a growing program at Optum, and the candidate will be focused on improving on current capabilities by implementing previously unseen automation opportunities at Optum to help achieve process optimization across the UHG enterprise. The ideal candidate is driven, and strives in ambiguous, often undefined environments, creating their own path where necessary.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert to internal stakeholders on all aspects of the IT Asset Management discipline like Hardware Asset Management, Software Asset Lifecycle Management, Software Compliance, Audits (internal as well as OEMs), Software Usage Metering & Harvesting Solutions, Handling SW and HW asset management for acquired entities etc., driving visibility into various systems/applications/processes that can be optimized for better use.
  • Execute and guide execution of specific tasks through various application work streams to drive best-in-class operational support
  • Work as domain expert to look for the Gaps in the process/ systems and do the process re-engineering and work with development teams to get these automated.
  • Communicate status of various projects to senior leadership
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and personal development to peers
  • Drive results through increasing reliability of systems automation, process enhancements and cross-team synergies
  • Lead change and innovation - pursue opportunities to adopt new technologies and drive adoption to enhance business outcomes - drive and mange high-quality execution across organizational lines
  • Demonstrate integrity and ethical behavior by complying with applicable laws, regulations and policies and requiring the same from others
  • Leverage diversity and inclusion to bring in the right talent, drive employee engagement and foster teamwork and collaboration
  • Grow and maintain knowledge of and leverage cutting edge IT industry/marketplace/ITAM industry-specific technologies and processes and trends to support the most efficient process for UHG

Required Qualifications:

  • 15 or more years of professional IT experience, with steadily increasing responsibilities

  • 7 or more years of experience in or exposure to IT Asset Management policies and practices, preferably in all areas of IT Asset Management Lifecycle

  • 3 or more years of Business Analyst/Product Owner experience building and supporting highly distributed, scalable systems and/or processes

  • 5 or more years of experience leading matrixed teams and/or managing IT Projects, initiatives and deliverables

  • Experience with enabling automation capabilities through a DevOps model

  • Experience with Agile software development processes & practices, methodologies and terminology

  • Excellent collaboration, negotiation and influencing skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate Degree or equivalent work experience

  • Health Care industry or Fortune 100 size company & complexity experience

  • Experience with hardware and software provisioning, procurement, contract interpretation and or compliance policies and processes

  • International experience a plus

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado/Connecticut/Nevada residents is $97,300 to $176,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
