Ascension St Vincent's is looking for an RN Manager to join our Southside Hospital team in our Progressive Care Unit.

This position will lead and assist in the day to day operations of a newly expanded unit under our Caregiver Model.

Unit Details:
This position will be supporting our 3rd Floor 39-bed Progressive Care Unit with oversight over a 19-bed Med/Surg unit and a flex overlow unit. With primary responsibilities providing clinical oversight and leadership for our Careteam, be a part of one of Ascension's Caregiver Model of the Future teams. Our interdisciplinary team unit focuses on improved care, team communication, and openness. We want to provide our associates with the support you need to re-energize and engage in your passion, so you can experience the joy of caring for patients.

This unit features a newly designed floor plan to help you work more effectively and in collaboration with other caregivers. We encourage associate feedback and find ways to improve and influence the processes encountered every day - ultimately leading to providing better patient care.

St. Vincent Medical Center Southside (formerly known as St. Luke’s), is a 311 bed facility that joined the St. Vincent HealthCare family in 2008. St. Vincent’s Southside is the only community hospital in Jacksonville to receive the “baby-friendly” designation from the World Health Organization and UNICEF. It is also home to the area’s only all-private neonatal intensive care (NICU) rooms.

What You Will Do:

Coordinate unit staffing and provides leadership while ensuring implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care in assigned area.

• Assign, direct, educate, and monitor nursing and support staff during assigned shift.
• Contribute to or performs performance evaluations of staff.
• Assess daily patient care needs and develops and distributes patient care assignments, ensuring that population appropriate patient care is given.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care and identifies any issues that affect desired patient outcomes.
• Respond to complaints about patient care and manages through established channels.
• May provide input for hiring, training, directing, development and evaluating of staff.

What You Will Need:

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required.

Work Experience:

• 1 year of experience required.
