Staff Accountant

Robert Half is seeking candidates for a full-time Staff Accountant position, which will become a critical part of an innovative Service company. To be successful, challenges and multiple moving components should excite candidates. This Staff Accountant role's duties will require preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. Other responsibilities include internal reporting during the monthly close, participation in compliance, interaction with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and reviewing schedules reporting processes. Your responsibilities

- Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

- Special projects and impromptu reporting, upon request

- Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

- Participate in various department-wide initiatives

- Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules

- Assist with the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks

- Maintain intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation

- Conduct month end close and compose journal entries with minimal supervision

- Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries

- Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner

- Assemble analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management reporting

- Manage depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation

- In-depth knowledge of reconciling month end balance sheet accounts
