Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - VA C & P Medical Disability Exam Review - Telecommute

We are currently seeking a Medical Disability Exam Review Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to serve as a medical professional to evaluate and provide a clear, comprehensive and concise review of Medical Disability claims.

You’ll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a point of contact and resource for the VA Clinical Operations Department (VBA - Veterans Benefits Administration) and communicate with internal and external entities
  • Provide Practitioner education
  • Perform internal Medical Opinion only requests as required by applicable contracts

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in a Physician Assistant Program or Master’s Degree from an accredited university in a Nurse Practitioner program
  • Active unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license
  • Certified VA Compensation and Pension Examiner. Certification does not need to be current
  • 2+ years of clinical experience
  • Experience as a VA employee or contractor performing Compensation and Pension Examinations
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to obtain licensure in other states as needed; may be required to identify a supervising physician as dictated by state licensure requirements
  • Access to high-speed internet from home (Broadband Cable, Fiber or DSL) and a dedicated workspace from home
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. UnitedHealth Group will adhere to all federal, state and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination, and boosters when applicable, prior to employment to ensure compliance. Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
