Coffee Shop Attendant

The Coffee Shop Attendant is responsible for the production and sale of specialty coffee beverage items, the preparation and sale of breakfast and lunch items, and the delivery of warm and welcoming service.

Essential Functions:

Perform daily opening, ongoing and closing side duties such as prep items used during service such as coffee, tea, milk, fruits, pastries and sandwiches. Make sure Provisions is well stocked during service hours and stored properly upon closing; and shop is left clean and ready for the next shift upon exit.

Knowledgeable of the ingredients, preparation and presentation of all drink and food items on the menu, including featured/special items offered.

Responsible for and performs the proper setup, breakdown cleaning and regular routine maintenance of all equipment, including but not limited to: espresso machine, brewers, blenders and grinders.

Ensures that the daily sales records are appropriately maintained and procedures regarding cash management are maintained.

Interact with customers and associates in a friendly and enthusiastic manner.

Completes daily and weekly cleaning duties.

Effectively respond to basic customer complaints and exhibit service recovery skills.

Understand and practice food handling and sanitation techniques.

Experience Required:

Minimum of one year experience as barista, including cash handling and working with POS system is preferred. Qualified candidate be able to work independently.Must have the ability to communicate in English. Self-starting personality with an even disposition. Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times. Can communicate well with guests. Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player. Ability to communicate with guests, respond to questions, knowledge of hotel service, local area events and activities.Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry or otherwise move packages, boxes and luggage with sufficient manual dexterity in both hands to be able to load and unload luggage up to 75 lbs. Ability to stand, walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions. Perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling and/or walking.
