The Hospital Director of Finance will work with a non profit hospital that has been service the surrounding communities for more than 50 years. The Hospital Director of Finance will be part of a team that strives to provide superlative care by focusing on patients’ needs rather than shareholders’ demands and by incorporating the latest proven medical technology and attracting the best medical staff and affiliated physicians.

The Hospital Director of Finance will plan and direct accounting activities within the Accounting Department. The Director of Finance will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and will be supported by the Controller and dedicated accounting staff. The Director of Finance will be responsible for the maintenance of financial records, consolidated financial statements, accounts payable, patient account receivable valuation, physician payments, internal and external financial reporting, tax returns, and regulatory compliance.

The Hospital Director of Finance will represent the Chief Financial Officer when needed. The Director of Finance will be responsible for monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP), including consolidated financial statements and comparative analysis. The Director of Finance will provide detailed and thorough variance analysis to include net revenue and expense trend review.

The Director of Finance will identify financial issues with health system department operations and financial reporting. The Director of Finance will communicate identified problem areas to appropriate leaders ensuring that reporting is accurate and timely. The Director of Finance will ensure compliance and reporting requirements are met with all applicable agencies including external auditors and bond trustee.

The Director of Finance will be responsible for the quarterly continuing bond disclosure filing which includes management discussion and analysis and consolidated financial statements. The Director of Finance will oversee daily operations in general accounting and accounts payable systems. The Director of Finance will review and approve journal entries in accordance with GAAP.

The Director of Finance is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Controller and Accounting personnel. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Health System’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. The ideal candidate for Director of Finance will have Bachelor's degree (B.S) in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university.
