About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Portfolio management position focused on managing a large and complex credit portfolio of Not-for-Profit Health System, Health Insurance, Higher Education and Nonprofit relationships within the Healthcare, Higher Education & Nonprofit (HHN) Middle Market Banking Office. Responsibilities include working with senior management, relationship managers and credit leaders to originate, monitor and grow HHN relationships. Accountable for credit underwriting and origination, portfolio monitoring, renewals and annual reviews, coordination of pricing, and for revenue growth, cross-sell and relationship profitability. Manages and promotes the maintenance of a portfolio that adheres to all applicable credit policies and compliance requirements. Works with clients directly to understand credit needs and represents the bank in developing and maintaining client relationships. May periodically assist with office risk management duties and managing overall account relationships. Responsibilities may also include training, supervision and/or mentoring of analysts or junior portfolio managers.

In this role, you will:
  • Research complex credit investigations and diverse credit information for loans
  • Identify opportunity for process improvements within scope of responsibilities or functional area
  • Review and identify basic operational assignments that require research, evaluation, and selection of alternatives while exercising independent judgement to guide medium risk deliverables
  • Present recommendations for resolving complex situations and exercise independent judgement while developing expertise in the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate and consult with functional colleagues, internal partners, and stakeholders including internal as well as external customers
Required Qualifications, US:
  • 2+ years of Commercial Banking Portfolio Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • Underwriting experience including advanced commercial or specialty group relationship portfolio credit
  • Experience negotiating interest rates, price, terms, and collateral requirements
  • Knowledge and understanding of commercial and specialty group banking products and services
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of credit policy, loan servicing, risk management, and group underwriting requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in loan documentation (rates, terms, collateral requirements) of specialty tax exempt credit products including Direct Pay Letters of Credit, Standby Bond Purchase Agreements and Direct Purchase facilities with ability to represent the bank in negotiating directly with clients and external counsel
  • Solid knowledge of Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements for nonprofit Healthcare, Higher Education and Nonprofit clients
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Specialized Industries credit policy, loan servicing, risk management and group underwriting requirements
  • Sound understanding of tax exempt underwriting, sales & trading
Job Expectations:
  • Travel ability up to 10% of the time
Pay Range

$84,000.00 - $149,400.00 Annual
