Academy/Day School Teacher's Aide 1. Supervise and insure the safety and well-being of the children at all times, being alert for the needs and/or problems of the children as individuals and as a group. 2. Assist teacher in any way possible, which may include, but is not necessarily limited to: a. Plan curriculum in detail for assigned classes. b. Implement the daily program for assigned classes. c. Decorate the room with bulletin boards, pictures, children's art work, and other hangings. d. Prepare a snack and sit with children while they eat it. e. Keep classroom, storage rooms, and bathroom clean, neat, and orderly 3. Aides are encouraged to attend local in-service workshops. 4. May assume temporary responsibilities of teacher in their absence 5. Be familiar with and follow all preschool policies. 6. Report to Director any special needs or problems of individual children. 7. Report to Director any cases of suspected child abuse or neglect. 8. Attend regular staff planning and evaluation meetings. 9. Never leave the students in class unattended in the absence of the classroom teacher.
