Position Description: Surgical Technologist

The Surgical Technologist is a member of the health care team who performs technical support in the perioperative period under the direction and supervision of a RN according to accepted clinical standards of care.

• Knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, equipment and sterile field set-up

Preferred Knowledge in Labor and Delivery

Requirements:
• Preferred CST (Surgical Tech) from NBSTSA or NCCT
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• 1 year Surgical Technologist experience OR 5 years if completed hospital or military based training
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program OR a military OR hospital based training in Surgical Technology
