Field Superintendent

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The superintendent is responsible for all field operations related to their craft Pipe, Plumbing or Sheet metal. The success or failure of the project is greatly dependent on the ability of the superintendent. The Superintendent shall have direct control of all on-site field personnel; size of the on-site field personnel will be dependent on the size and complexity of the project. Will be responsible for safe completion of projects in accordance with EAS Safety Program. Complete all required project paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.

Job responsibilities include:

• Assist Project manager with preparing, monitoring, and meeting schedules.
• Enforce all job-site safety procedures.

• Conduct weekly “Tool Box” talks

• Coordinate shop fabwork in a timely and accurate manner

• Direct crews in proper installation of mechanical components

• Assist project manager in directing subcontractors

• Attend any and all job-site meetings as required

• Order materials and supplies as needed and ensure accurate and timely delivery

• Maintain all MSDS, Hazcom, etc materials as required

• Maintain all EAS vehicles to manufacturers specifications

• Submit as-builts in a timely manner

• Required inspections of ladders, harnesses, tools, etc

• Responsible for general job-site appearance

• Perform various personnel actions including, but not limited to, hiring, performance appraisals, promotions, transfers and vacation schedules

• Any other job-related duties as assigned

EDUCATION

•Minimum of a high school education or equivalent

•This Position requires a minimum of ten (10) years industry related experience with the most recent five (5) years of experience in the position of Field Superintendent

JOB REQUIREMENTS/SPECIAL SKILLS:

•Requires working in conditions of varying heat and cold and where noise levels are at or above 90 decibels.

•Courses in construction safety are a requirement.
