Senior Sales Manager:
Great opportunity for a Senior Sales Manager role in the heart of Bostons Back Bay next to the Prudential Center. Work with a close-knit sales team at the iconic 4 diamond Colonnade Boston which is celebrating 50 years as an Independent Hotel and is a member of Preferred Hotels and Resorts.
The Senior Sales Manager has at least 3 years experience in a full-service hotel and is a top producer in hotel sales while demonstrating a commitment to the industry and to being a sales leader. This position is designated for a sales professional who desires to be the best in their field by consistent strong sales performance and being a leader in revenue production. This position reports to the Director of Sales and Marketing.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Selling guest rooms and meeting space to corporate & leisure group accounts.
- Identify new business that fits sales parameters
- Solicit new and existing accounts to meet/exceed revenue goals through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communication
- Book repeat business
- Develop long-term relationships
- Working with Revenue Management team to optimized revenue and yield management.
- Participate in pre-convention meetings, training and other sales-related meetings as required
- This position will work as a team leader with the sales and catering staff and will take on leadership functions and assist the Director of Sales & Marketing with ongoing projects.
- Work with other departments within the hotel to provide quality service to customers
- Attend trade shows, community events and industry meetings
- Research/maintain knowledge of market trends, competition and customers
- Preparing correspondence to customers, internal booking reports and client data
Skills, Abilities, and Previous Experience needed to be successful
- Minimum of 3+ years hotel group sales experience in the Boston area
- Proficiencywith Microsoft Suite, Outlook, and Amadeus/Delphi will be highly preferred for this role. Experience with Opera a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed sales goals by effectively negotiating and closing business
- Excellent team player and innovator - helping to fostera culture of performance, accountability, trust and credibility
- Ability to identify, target new accounts, and sell concepts and ideas to clients
- Ability to create and deliver high quality experience that meets or exceeds our guests' expectations
- Effective time management and organization skills
- Refined written and verbalcommunication skills.
- Must have selling, negotiating, business writing and presentation skills.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time and move frequently from area to area. Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, reach with hands and arms. Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Must be able to stand for an extended period and for an entire work shift.
