As a Barclays Market Risk Business Analyst, you will co-ordinate, plan, and perform analysis tasks for specialist applications and manage internal domain analysis resources for one or more components of a program. You will act as a quality control reviewer for outputs and work with IT to ensure issues are addressed and the right design is delivered per the user requirements.

What will you be doing?

• Defining an approaching that is in line with the strategic vision of the program and the preferred methodology of the organization
• Articulating and presenting the commercial effectiveness of requirement proposals within a project or initiative
• Communicating with one or more business areas/SME's to understand high level requirements
• Working alone to elicit, validate and document systems requirements
• Participating in the design process coordinated by the Program Management team, from Design approval to functional design completion
• Supporting the Testing Strategy, ensuring all requirements in scope are tested
• Supporting system training for new users, or when new functionality is released

What we're looking for:

• Graduate or Master's degree - preferably in Finance, Math, or Science or equivalent work experience
• Understanding Market Risk (Greeks, VaR , Expected Shortfall & Stress Testing calculations)
• Adept with scripting languages (Python, R, SQL, etc.)
• Previous experience working in financial services

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Certifications in Finance or Risk (e.g. FRM, CQF) are preferred
• Excellent analytical/mathematical skills
• Excellent communication skills - including the ability to convey information to non-technical colleagues in a concise and clear way
• Strong stakeholder management, able to communicate at all levels and build sustainable relationships
