Remote Entry / Junior Level RPG / Web SWE
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce is currently seeking a Remote Entry to Junior Level Software Engineer (Web/RPG) to join our San Diego, California (CA) based client. This role is currently 100% remote and might switch back to an office occasional environment when COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.
Summary:
We are seeking an engineer with a desire to grow with our company. We will train you and invest in you. The primarily responsibilities are under general supervision, for assisting in the design and development of front end web including mobile application development using JavaScript, HTML, Bootstrap and RPG.
Responsibilities:
* Under the supervision of senior-level teammates, the Engineer help develop and maintain current applications for existing systems on a variety of technical platforms
* Participate in systems design sessions with users, Business Analysts, and/or senior-level teammates to develop complete specifications that capture impact of changes on all applications, systems, and databases
* Apply knowledge of data centric architecture, design, programming, and performance to help update programs and resolve problems
* As an Engineer, you will apply knowledge and help manage projects using web, database, and software technologies
* Demonstrate a high level of personal commitment and accountability to the business with a focus on quality and customer service
* Work in a team environment, and communicate positively with team members, peers, customers, and vendors
* Provide time tracking and project feedback data
* Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or a related field either completed with a 3.0 GPA or higher
* 0-3 years of academic or professional understanding of programming languages
* Self-starter with the demonstrated ability to learn/adapt to new technologies and techniques
* Experience with Software/DB modernization, analysis, design, and construction including application of modern DB, OO, and modular software concepts and patterns a plus
* Highly detail-oriented and organized
* Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment; Strong sense of urgency and responsiveness
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to think critically, including the ability to evaluate facts and data to draw conclusions, determine the downstream impact of decisions and associated risks
